William Steven Latvis, 86, of Mass City ,MI passed away on December 18 2018, at Aspirus Hospital in Laurium. He was born in Portage Township, Houghton to Anna and John Latvis on March 13, 1932. He graduated high school from Mass City in 1950.

He married Betty Hermanson on July 23, 1955 in Houghton, Mi. He worked at the White Pine Copper Mine until he retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the Korean war and served in the Army.

Bill is survived by James Latvis (Kay), Dan Latvis (Val), Lisa Truscott (Ken), David Latvis (Susie) and Lynn Reber(Lindon), Twelve Grandchildren, Fifteen Great Grandchildren and several cousins, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty, son Billy, a baby girl Mary Beth, five brothers, two sisters and his parents. He was an avid sportsman who loved Baseball, Horseshoe, Bowling, Fishing, Hunting and in his later years loved to play Bags.

He also enjoyed going to the local casinos as well as his trips to Las Vegas with family. He loved spending time with his family and always had a kind smile for everyone. Visitation will be held at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Rockland, Mi on Decemebr 27, 2018 at 10:00 AM with funeral to follow at 11:00 with Father Michael Jacobus officiating.

There will be a spring burial at Maple Grove Cemetery in Greenland. The Cane Funeral Home of Ontonagon is assisting the family with arrangements.
