OBITUARY William Stuart Westland September 30, 1959 – December 23, 2018 William Stuart Westland, 59, of Marblehead, MA passed away on Sunday December 23, 2018. Stuart was born in Memphis, TN on September 30, 1959 to Dr. G.A. “Al” Westland Sr. and Patricia Westland. He was a graduate of The Memphis University School and a 1981 graduate of the University of Missouri -Columbia where he received his BA in Journalism.

At the University of Missouri, he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order Fraternity and became an avid member of the Alumni Association. Stuart began his advertising career in New York City with Wells Rich, Greene BDDP and then Saatchi & Saatchi Advertising. He later became VP Account Supervisor at McKinney & Silver, VP Director of Marketing for Performance Bicycle, VP Account Director at MSA in North Carolina and then VP Marketing at YMCA of Greater Boston, Inc. Stuart was a devoted church member and served as a deacon at the United Church of Chapel Hill in North Carolina until his move to Marblehead.

He then became an active member at The Old North Church of Marblehead and served as a crank for the historic Abbot Hall clock. He found joy in cycling, sailing, reading, photography and spending time with his family. Stuart was preceded, in death, by his twin sister Gerene Kay and his father Dr. G.A. “Al” Westland Sr

He is survived by his wife, Helen Westland, of 38 years, his mother Patricia Westland and brother George A. Westland Jr. of Memphis Tennessee, as well as his three children Darcy Westland Dellavecchia and her husband Dustin Dellavecchia, Jessica Westland, and Jeremy Westland, his niece and nephew Taryn and Allen Westland and his cousins Gene, Stephanie, Pat, and Debbie Peer of Jacksonville, FL. Memorial Service will be held at the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA on Saturday January 19th at 10am. All are welcome.
