William W. Parks, age 78, of Edgewood, Illinois passed away at 7:05 a.m. on Tuesday, May 21, 2019, peacefully at his home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 25, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood, Illinois with a one-hour viewing prior to the service. Lucas Shelley will be officiating.

Burial will be at Mason Cemetery in Mason, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 24, 2019 at Pagel Funeral Homes in Edgewood. In lieu of flowers, memorial may go to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the donor’s choice.

William was born on March 26, 1941 in Effingham County, Illinois, the son of Wayne L. & Lucille (Norris) Parks. He married Joann C. Bushur on March 2, 1958. He attended Effingham High School.

William had a love for horses that was known by everyone that knew him. In his younger years, he owned and operated riding stables in Arlington Heights, Illinois and Wisconsin. Then he moved his family back home to Illinois where he drove a semi and worked in the oil fields.

After retiring he enjoyed spending time with his family, trading and breaking horses. He will be missed by all who knew him. William is survived by his wife, Joann of 61 years; sons, Roger (Sheri) Parks of Edgewood, Danny (Denise) of Mason, Dale (Sue) of Mason; daughters, Belinda Hall of Mason, Tammy Parks of Effingham, and Lisa (Dallas) Orsborn of Effingham; grandchildren, Ricky (Elaine) Lange, Lee (Kathy) Cramsey, Amy (Cody) Webb, Kyle (Amber) Parks, Brandi (TJ) Stewart, Joe (Megan) Parks, Jamie (Bogie) Pontious, Grasie Parks, Andy (Charli) Robinson, Allen Matlock, Maggie Matlock, Jeremy McBride, Sara (Lee) Fehrenbacher, Tommy (Katie) Birch, Taylor McGee, and Parker McGee; 21 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-law, Doug Hall; brothers-in-law, Louie Hankins and Glen Boomgarden; sister, Sandy Crain; and nephews, Ronnie Crain and Brian Mandell.
