MARVIN, Willie C., age 81, of Dayton, born May 25, 1937 in Atmore, Alabama, departed this life Sunday, December 23, 2018. He graduated from Dunbar High School in 1956 and retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. Willie was honorably discharged from the United States Army.

He was a past member of St. Mark’s Lodge 165, Inc He joined Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church under the late Rev.

John F. Cunningham’s pastoral ship where he served as a church greeter and participated in the Laymen Organization. He enjoyed learning about the Bible, and as part of his learning, he accompanied Rev. Asa Browning and Rev.

Sylvester Walker on a 7-day tour to the Holy Land. During this tour he was rebaptized in the Jordan River which was on of the highlights of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Judge A. Marvin and Corine J. Hines; siblings, Emily Janet Isaac, Curtis Hines, Eleanor Joanne Young.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Yvonne Colvin Marvin; daughters, Regina (Fidelis) Asielue, Snellville, GA, Yolanda Marvin, Dayton; sons, Craig (Charmayne) Marvin, Michael Johnson, both of Dayton; siblings, Clarence Hines, New York, NY, Harriet Reid Hart, Chicago, IL, Carolyn Marvin Hannibal, Pensacola, FL; 7 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. A celebration of Willie’s life will be held 11 am Friday, December 28, at Mt. Enon M. B. Church, 1501 W. Third St. Rev.

Cory Pruitt officiating. Visitation 9-11 am. Family will receive friends 10-11 am.

Interment West Memory Gardens.
