It is with great sadness that the family of Willie Paul Strickland, Sr. announces his passing, after a brief illness, Sunday, July 8, 2018 at the age of 88 years. Paul, as he was known to his family and friends, was born in Glen, Georgia to Sweet Sr. and Leola Strickland. He served in the Korean War and had been a faithful employee of General Motors Corporation before retiring after 37 years of service.

Preceded in death by his brother, Charlie Strickland; sisters, Alice Brooks, Elizabeth Daniels, Corine Bolds. He will lovingly be remembered by his children, Willie Jr., Marvin, Sherry, Gary and Valescia; grandchildren, Willie, Torrence, LaShonda, Antonia, Tamika, Sherria, Conchatta; sister, Veleria Wilkerson; brother, Sweet Jr. (Dorothy) Strickland; great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Funeral service will be held 12 noon Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Valley Peace Missionary Baptist Church, 4201 W. Hillcrest Ave.

Rev. Jackie Robinson officiating. Visitation 10 am at the church until time of service.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Interment Dayton National Cemetery.
