Willow “May” Smith of Ottawa Lake, MI passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, February 10, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. May was born May 18, 1932 in Toledo, OH to Rudolph and Lillian Lloyd. On August 5, 1950 May married Raymond Lester Smith; he survives.

May and Ray had 6 children; Sandy (Charles) Nadeau of Ida, MI, David Smith, Debbie (Lonnie) Creque of Riga, MI, Fred (Lee) Smith of Ottawa Lake, MI, Ruth Ann Smith of St. Augustine, FL and Raymond (Jeanette) Smith of Ottawa Lake, MI. May was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Lloyd and Hank “Buddy” Lloyd; and son, David “Harry” Smith. May is survived by 17 grandchildren and 39, soon to be 40, great-grandchildren.

May was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Riga, MI, where she was active for many years as a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. She volunteered at Flower Hospital for over 23 years, helping her daughter, Deb, make CPR packets and later volunteering in the outpatient surgery department as an escort. May was a housewife that loved to garden, to farm, spend time mowing grass, but especially spending time with her family.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 2pm until 8pm at Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania, OH where the funeral will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 at 11am. Interment will follow at Riga Cemetery. The family would like to thank Hospice of Lenawee for their loving care.
