Winifred Vickery November 26, 1925 – March 23, 2019 Share this obituary View/Sign Guest Book| Send Sympathy Card Winifred Vickery, 93, passed away March 23, 2019. She was the wife of the late Letto F. Vickery. Born in England she was a daughter of the late George and Winifred Abbott.

While growing up in London, she lived and worked through the Blitz during WWII. In the years following the war she received her nursing degree and then a Master’s degree in surgical nursing from West London Hospital, and in 1952 she became a certified Midwife. During her nursing career she worked as a Registered Nurse for several hospitals in New York, Chicago, Boston and Rhode Island.

In 1976 Mrs. Vickery became a US Citizen. She is survived by her son Matthew F. Vickery and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Maurice, George and Maureen Abbott.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday March 27th at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Mercy Church, 65 Third St., East Greenwich. Burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, East Greenwich. Visitation prior to the mass will be held from 9:00 – 10:00 am in the Hill Funeral Home, 822 Main St., East Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
