Yearby A. Shahan, age 84, a lifelong resident of Parker County, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018. Yearby was born March 26, 1934, the son of Herman and Nora Shahan. He attended Greenwood, Weatherford and Brock schools, graduating from Brock in 1951.

After retirement, he taught classes in highway construction for TEEX. Yearby enjoyed woodworking, hunting and camping, John Wayne movies, traveling (especially with his family) and enjoyed watching and documenting wildlife around his property. … Read More » He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Nita; daughter and son-in-law, Sherri and Wade Box, daughter and son-in-law Donna and Steve Freymuth; one grandson Bryan Freymuth and his wife Kara; granddaughters, Erin Box, Natalie Tumlin and husband Paul, Kendra Freymuth and Megan Freymuth; great grandchildren, Cade, Isabella, Graham and Granger.

Yearby was preceded in death by his son, Gary. Funeral service: 10 a.m., Friday, April 27, 2018 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation: 6-8 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
