Felton- Yvonne Taylor was born August 6, 1938 to Cornelia and Dave Carmichael from a union of two boys (deceased) one girl. She was born in Raeford NC her mother passed away when she was 6 years old and was raised by her aunt and uncle the late Matthew and Ida Ferguson. She attended Upchurch High School and graduated in 1956.
Then later she relocated to New York. Later she was married to the late Jimmie Taylor in 1965. From this union there were four children two girls and two boys.
She received Christ with baptism of the Holy Ghost in 1977, the Lord then led her to Bethel Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of the late Dr. Charles H. Jones Pastor. She then joined the Celestial Choir in 1978 and later became a missionary in 1984. She then went to O.M. Kelley Religious Training Institute Church of God in Christ for Christian workers course of bible study in 1993.
She went to Tabernacle Bible Institute and graduated for evangelism and was ordained by her Pastor Dr. C.H. Jones to receive her license. She worked as a home attendant from the Rockaway Vendor agency for 17 years. She was also a foster mother for 40 children for 24 years or more.
She then relocated to Delaware in 2004 and was led to join Love temple Community Church of God in Christ in 2005 and met a wonderful loving Pastor, Pastor Louis Bowers Sr. and then served as a mother and a Evangelist and was the President of the sick committee and did whatever was assigned for her to do. Then she became an adult caretaker for 20 adults. Yvonne leaves to cherish her precious memories (her daughters) Trenice Taylor, Kecia Taylor, Jessica Taylor Evay Cooper, Brea Cooper (sons) Victor Taylor, Torre Taylor, Joseph Jones, Derrick Taylor, Kevin Cooper, Robert Gillium, Rory Taylor (granddaughters) Trenice S. McDonald, Kezia McDonald, Lavoinna Armstead, Lanay Worthy, Jade Wright, Breanna Jones, Shaquita Bryant Cheve Cooper, Corey Taylor, Frederick McDonald, Lovell Armstead, Alexander Cooper, Lou Diamond Clark, Isiah Wright Jr. Lamain Wright.
Isaac Wright, Benjamin, Ty-Jae and Joseph Jones, (great grandchildren) Azalea Ortiz, Michael Ortiz, Kori Patterson, Jada Patterson, grandson Kin-nah Timothy. her nieces Jackie Babbs of Central Islip N.Y. Carol Carmichael of Seattle Washington. Her closest relatives – The Fergusons that she was raised up with and treated as a sister.
Two living sisters Mildred Lewis and Pinkey Ferguson seven living brothers Julius, Pastor Edward, Paul, Richard, Jerome, Carter Ferguson of Washington and Baltimore MD two god sisters Diane Stone, Hester Sydnor of New York and a host of relatives and friends also her two best friends Kathy Scott and Marlene Newton of Delaware. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Bibleway Temple Church of God in Christ 54 Kirkwood St. Dover DE where friends may call after 11:00am.
