Obituary for Zelda Lea Williams Zelda (Nana), age 78 of Merkel Tx, passed away on Saturday September 22, 2018. She was born to the late George and Edna Lenora Fox on February 8, 1940 in San Benito Tx. A loving mother and grandmother, Zelda was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays.

Zelda loved her children and grandchildren and made it a point to make sure we were all happy, healthy and not want for anything. Zelda worked at The Big Country Truck stop in Merkel Tx for 20 years enjoying all her loyal customers that became part of her family. Zelda studied abroad while her father George Fox was stationed in France then as a young adult moved to Corpus Christi Texas.

Zelda is preceded in death by her granddaughter Netashia Steffey great grandson Riley Matthew Cole, and great granddaughter Bryleigh Nicole and her favorite brother n law Bob Rogers Survivors include sister Lorraine (Lanie) Rogers of Oklahoma, sister Edna (Tinker) Robinson of Georgia, and 5 children, son Bobbie Williams Jr and wife Stacey of Merkel Tx, daughter Georgia Ann Vines and husband A.T of George west Tx, daughter Cindy Reitano and husband Ken of Walhalla South Carolina, daughter Rose Scott of Austin Tx, and daughter Sheryl Williams Allen and husband Brian of Staples Tx. Zelda had 12 grandchildren Michael, Sean, Crystal, Stephanie, Samuel, Katie, Cassidy, Darla, Benjamin, Amanda, Netashia, and Dustin and also 19 Great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday September 26, from 5pm to 7pm at Starbuck Funeral Home in Merkel, Texas.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 10:00AM at Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel Texas. Services are under the direction of Starbuck Funeral Home. To send flowers to the family of Zelda Lea Williams, please visit our Heartfelt Sympathies Store.
