Zelma’s Obituary Zelma Lee Knes, age 83, passed away unexpectedly March 27, 2019. She was born in Barbourville, KY on August 18, 1935 the daughter of the late Elizabeth and Fraser Miller. Zelma is preceded in death by her former husband, Frank and grandson, Jason.

She is the loving mother of Loretta Green (Rick), Linda Kimball (Kris), Frank Jr., Kathryn Knes (Kent Avery) and Maria Hubbell; beloved grandmother of Stacy, Michael, Jennifer, Shawn, Rachel, Gage and Gavin; cherished great grandmother of Kaylah, Celine, Ethan, Brendan, Brooklynn and Nicholas and great great grandmother of Nevaeh; fondest sister of the following deceased, Judy, Ruby, Elmer and Bill. Zelma was a happy person almost never without a smile on her face. Everyone who knew her would remember her by her contagious laugh.

She loved gardening and enjoyed her time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren especially while playing the video game Zelda. She had a fiery side to her personality, protesting for many causes and many times advocating for the underdog cause. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her life and she was very protective of all of them.

Her fight would never end when she was defending her children. She was a great decorator, loved horror movies and always enjoyed listening to rock-n-roll music. The Knes family will receive friends Saturday, April 6, 1-5 pm at the funeral home, her funeral service will begin at 5 pm.
