Obituary for Adolph J. Charron Adolph J. Charron, age 98, passed away Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Mercy Hospital. He was born November 6, 1919, in Muskegon to Adolph J. and Amelia F. (Schuler) Charron and was a life resident of the area. Adolph was the valedictorian of his graduating class at St. Joseph High School.

He graduated from Muskegon Junior College. He then entered the U.S. Army having served in the Pacific Theater as a Technical Sergeant for the Medical Corps during WWII. On June 22, 1946, he married the former Elizabeth “Bets” R. Murray at Sts.

Faith, Hope and Charity Catholic Church in Winnetka, IL, and she preceded him in death on August 6, 2008. He was the proud owner and operator of Adolph’s Place – a popular local tavern – for nearly 60 consecutive years. He was a member of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, was a life member of the Muskegon Elks and a long-time member of the Irish-American Society.

SURVIVORS include 5 children, Patrick (Connie) Charron of Muskegon, Ann (Gary) Gunia of Kalamazoo, Timothy Charron of Kalamazoo, Peter (Debra) Charron of Norton Shores, Brian (P.J.) Charron of Evanston, IL; 10 grandchildren, Andrew Charron, Jennifer (Matthew) Flenar, Julie (James) Pyle, Eric (Megan) Gunia, Sara Gunia, Kevin Charron, Brian (Ashlee) Charron, Kyle Charron, Nora Charron, John Charron; and 9 great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by 1 grandson, Ryan Charron and 2 sisters, Evelyn Drescher and Dorothy Sibley. MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be celebrated 11:00 AM Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church (239 W. Clay Ave.

,) with Rev. Fr. Matthew J. Barnum presiding.

INTERMENT will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery with military honors offered by the Muskegon County Council of Veterans. VISITATION will be held 5-8 PM Monday at The Walburn Chapel, 1547 W. Sherman Blvd. , (231) 759-8565 where the Rosary will be prayed at 5:15 PM Monday.
