Agnes M. Mykich, age 94 of Clairton, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2019 in Arrowwood at Southwestern. Born February 2, 1924 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late Bela and Anne (Stanic) Demko. A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, the former St. Joseph’s Church and its Christian Mothers, Agnes worked as a bookkeeper at US Steel Clairton Works.

In her spare time, she loved to bowl, go to the casino (especially the Meadows,) and was a die-hard Steelers and Pirates fan. Her family will remember her, though, as a kind, thoughtful, and generous woman with a great sense of humor; but, most of all, as an amazing mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Agnes joins her husband of 60 years, the late Hasson H. Mykich, who passed away June 14, 2012, and her son Henry Mykich, who passed away August 22, 2015.

She is survived by her children Kathy (Gary) Cooper of San Antonio, TX, Bob (Anne) Mykich of Wilmington, NC, and Richard (Laura) Mykich of Pleasant Hills; her grandchildren Jonathan (Claire,) Andrew (Sandra,) Molly, and Erin Mykich; her step-grandchildren Stephanie Johnson and Ashley Cooper; her great-grandchildren Harper, Liam, and Cooper; and also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, Clairton, on Monday, January 14, 2019 from 5 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at 10:30 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Clairton with Fr.

Robert Cedolia officiating. Procession and burial will follow to Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Agnes’s name should be made to Amedisys Hospice, 100 Stoops Ave.
