Lory Allan “Al” William Diedrich, 63, of Conrad passed suddenly on Wednesday, September 12, 2018. Al was born on June 22, 1955 to Elden and Clarice (Karger) Diedrich in Parker’s Prairie, Minnesota. He was the youngest of three boys.

He attended grade school at Central Lutheran in St. Paul, then later graduated from Irondale High School in 1973. He went on to attend the University of Minnesota and the Academy of Accounting. Al began his career with Prudential Insurance in 1976 at the Minneapolis Home Office starting in Accounting and ending 36 years later (the last few years outd to Unidata) as part of the Desktop support team.

He was also involved with Prudential’s Human Re teaching program within the facility. He enjoyed playing softball and bowling with some of his co-workers in his earlier years. His favorite times were celebrations at Prudential when he could laugh and joke with others.

Always Mr. Social Butterfly. Al had two previous marriages and a daughter with each prior to marrying Peg (Thomas) in May 1989. Al’s daughters Tabitha and Sarah together with Peg’s son, Phillip, then added daughter, Jennifer, to complete their blended family.

Survivors include: wife, Margaret (Peg), daughters; Tabitha Adams, Sarah (Stephen) Beebe, Jennifer (Matthew) Hansen and son, Phillip (Erin) Diedrich, brothers; Stan and Ken (Gretchen) Diedrich, grandchildren; Isaiah Adams, Josephine Beebe, Cecilia Beebe and Ash Hansen, as well as many wonderful aunts, uncles and cousins. Al was preceded in death by his parents, Elden and Clarice Diedrich. Al will always be remembered as a very loving and giving Christian man with a quick smile and a wicked sense of humor.

He had a soft spot for children and loved to watch them learn and grow especially within the church. His laughter and hugs will be missed by many. A potluck Celebration of Life will be held at Pondera Valley Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 29 at 1pm.

Casual attire is requested.
