Alan J. Bushmeyer, 92, Hannibal, MO, died at 7:13 p.m. on March 18, 2019, at the Hannibal Regional Hospital in Hannibal, MO. Visitation will be March 22, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Grand View Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Dr. Scott Spear officiating.

Burial will follow at Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal, MO. Alan was born on December 26, 1926, in Hull, IL, the son of Fredrick and Hazel Burmeyer Bushmeyer. He married Dorothy Pennington in March of 1959.

She preceded him in death on May 17, 2018. His parents; and three brothers, Fredrich, Merle and Chester Bushmeyer, preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother, Richard Bushmeyer, and many nephews and nieces.

Alan graduated from Hull High School as the valedictorian of the class of 44. He joined the army and fought under General Omar Bradley in the Italian campaign of WWII. After the war he attended Rolla Technical Institute and graduated with an Engineering Degree in 1949.

He and his brother owned and operated the Bushmeyer Implement Company, but his heart was in farming. He planted and harvested 75 crops with his brothers and Rod, Steve, Gary, and Bryce Bushmeyer, and Ron McAdams. Condolences may be sent to condolences@grandviewfuneral.com.
