Albert Frank’s Obituary Albert Frank Mutz, 87, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2019 at his home in Kosciuszko. He was born on January 8, 1931 in Czestowha to Frank and Anna Wrobel Mutz, where he also attended school. He enlisted in the Navy and served for five years.

While in the Navy, he attended school to become a machinist, and he also served in the Korean War. When Albert returned home, he married Magdalen Jaskinia in Kosciuszko at St. Ann’s Church on February 23, 1957. They were married for 61 years.

The couple had four children, four grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. After his honorable discharge from the service, he worked as a machinist for Alamo Iron Works in San Antonio for 13 years. Albert and his family moved to Sinton where Albert then worked for Reynold’s Metals, later Alcoa, for 28 years.

Upon retirement, Albert and Maggie moved to Kosciuszko, and Albert opened Mutz Machine Shop serving Kosciuszko and surrounding communities. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son, Mark, and grandson, Anthony. He was also an avid gardener.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Helen (Shorty) Mzyk and Mary Mutz, and brothers Henry (Pelagia) and Frank Jr. (Joyce), brothers-in-law Gervas Jaskinia, Leon Jaskinia, Vincent Jaskinia Jr., sister-in-law Virginia (Dylla) Jaskinia, mother-in-law Julia Jaskinia and father-in-law Vincent Jaskinia. He is survived by his wife, Magdalen (Jaskinia) Mutz of 61 years; children, Debbie Mutz of Houston, Alan Mutz of Kosciuszko, Kathy (Mutz) Dennison & husband, Jacky of Sugar Land, and Mark Mutz of Kosciuszko; grandchildren, Anthony Mutz of Kosciuszko, Alyssa (Mutz) Pierce & husband Ryan of San Antonio, Meredith Smith of Houston and Brent Smith of Irving; one great-grandson, Carter Pierce of San Antonio, sister-in-laws Annie Jaskinia (preceded in death by husband Leon) of Kosciuszko, Louise (Jaskinia) Manley & husband, Donald of Urbana, Iowa as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. Visitation began at 5:00 P.M. Monday, followed by the recitation of the rosary at 7:00 P.M. Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciuszko.

Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 8, 2019, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Kosciuszko, officiated by Father Damian Jaje. Interment followed at St. Ann’s Catholic Cemetery in Kosciuszko. Pallbearers were Brian Jaskinia (Nephew), Richard Mutz (Nephew & Godchild), Steven Mutz (Nephew & Godchild), Ryan Pierce (Grandson-in-law), Anthony Mutz (Grandson), and Brent Smith (Grandson).

We would like to thank Nurses in Touch, his caretaker, Sylvia Martinez, and Father Damian Jaje for the incredible care they provided to Albert during his greatest time of need.
