OBITUARY Albert Frederick Hermann August 4, 1928 – October 21, 2018 ALBERT FREDERICK HERMANN, age 90, of Bloomfield Hills, died October 21, 2018 at his residence. Albert was born on August 4, 1928 in Detroit, son of Joseph and Laura Hermann. He grew up in Detroit working at Hermann’s Bakery with his siblings Bob, Laura and Marion.

Albert then partnered with his father and brother in opening the first Qwikee Donut & Coffee shop in Detroit, eventually expanding to 13 locations, including Qwikee Food Service Inc. cafeteria style restaurants that were located in Southfield, Troy and Birmingham. Albert married Judith Turner on January 15, 1949 and they raised their family in Detroit and Southfield until moving to Bloomfield Hills, where they lived on Hammond Lake. He truly loved spending time with family and close friends on the lake, and was known for his 4th of July parties.

Albert enjoyed travelling the world, but could be found often just enjoying the view of Hammond Lake. He will be greatly missed by his dear children Frederick Hermann, Shelley (Thomas) Kane, and Scott Hermann, as well as 6 grandchildren. Albert was preceded in death this year by his loving wife of 69 years, Judith.

Private Family Services and Entombment will be held at Glen Eden Memorial Park in Livonia.
