Aleta Jean Hayes, 82, Holden, Missouri, passed away peacefully February 12, 2019 at St. Luke’s East Hospital, Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Aleta was born August 2, 1936 in Green Ridge, Missouri to Alonzo Moon and Zelda (Meredith) Moon. Following her graduation from high school, Aleta attended and graduated from Central Business College in 1954.

Aleta married William Lee Hayes September 3, 1954 and had three children. Aleta worked for a local Chevrolet Dealership as Business Secretary for many years. She was a long time member of the Magnolia Baptist Church and loved her church family.

Aleta was a member of the Womens Missionary Union (WMU), Johnson County Association, Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, Campers on Mission in Missouri and Texas, Past President of the Holden PTA, and served on the Election Board in Johnson County for the Holden area. Surviving her passing are one son, William Dean Hayes and wife Barbara, Royse City, Texas; two daughters, Janet Lynn Hedricks and husband Ed, Warrensburg, Missouri, Sandy Daugherty and husband Les, Wichita, Kansas; three sisters, Mary Elsbury and husband Sterling, Hiawatha, Kansas, Helen Adams and husband Lawrence, Smithton, Missouri, and Jeanette Viebrock, Sedalia, Missouri; five Grandchildren, eight Great Grandchildren and four Great Great Grandchildren. Aleta was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial contributions can be made in memory of Aleta Hayes to New Life Fellowship, Holden, Missouri or Three Wooden Crosses Cowboy Church, Augusta, Kansas. Visitation will be Sunday February 17, 2019 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Magnolia Baptist Church, Holden, MO. Funeral services will be Monday February 18, 2019, 10:00am at Magnolia Baptist Church, Holden, MO with Pastor Michael Wakeman, Pastor Marty Stump, and Pastor Don Mayberry officiating.
