Alfred’s Obituary Alfred A. Migues, known to family and friends as “Freddie”, passed away on May 6, 2019 at the age of 88 years. Freddie is survived by his wife, Beverly Duhon Migues, daughter, Beth Migues Parsons and husband Dr. John “J. P” Parsons, son, Damon Migues and wife Angie Ardizone Migues, son, Lance Migues and wife Brooke Latiolais Migues, sister, Audrey Migues Harris and her husband, Joe Harris, and six grandchildren: Morgan and Amanda Migues, Jacob and Zachary Parsons, and Alex and Evan Migues.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Antoine and Eugenie Migues of Jeanerette and his sister, Mercedes Migues Concienne. Freddie was a man of strong faith who dedicated his life to the service of others. He served as a Eucharistic and Lay Minister at St. John the Evangelist Church in Jeanerette.

He was a chaplain of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8150 and selflessly drove veterans to and from the VA Hospital in Alexandria. He served during the Korean War in both the National Guard and the Army. He took great pride in his community volunteering as a member of the Sugar City Beautification Cleanup Committee and maintained the lawn at the First Baptist Church.

He promoted parks and recreation by first volunteering to coach then serving as President of The Jeanerette Little League and later serving as a board member of the Iberia Parish Parks and Recreation Department. In 2000 he was The Jeanerette Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen. Freddie was employed as an electrician at Ashland Chemical/Degussa for 34 years.

In accordance with Freddie’s wishes, visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church of Jeanerette on Monday, May 13th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am. A rosary will be said at 9:30 followed by a mass officiated by Father Ed Degeyter at 10:30.
