Hamilton – Alfred “Bert” Roe, 88 of Hamilton passed away peacefully October 20, 2018 at his home in Hamilton. Alfred Berton Roe was born October 10, 1930 in Las Vegas, NM to the late Al B. and Evelyn Morrison Roe. He was drafted into the Army in 1950 while he was working on the Conchas Ranch in Conchas Lake, NM.

He took basic training at Ft. Leonard wood, Missouri and served until 1953 when he was honorably discharged. Bert went to work at Shope’s Ranch in Las Vegas, NM and then the Bonita Ranch in 1963.

In 1965 he came to Hamilton and ran the River Ranch. He married Joan Roe in Hamilton, MT in 1986. He is survived by his wife, Joan of Hamilton; children, Janet Bigelow, Carol Brown, Barbara “Bobbie” Roe and Gary Roe; grandchildren, Melissa Celenti, Kelly Bigelow, Michael Brown, Ashlie Larum and Justin Roe and great grandchildren, Dorian Cilenti, Brianna Cilenti and Zoe Bigelow.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Bitterroot Humane Association.
