OBITUARY Alfred D. Marino April 8, 1931 – October 14, 2018 Alfred Donald Marino, 87, of New City, NY, passed away on October 14, 2018. Son of the late Alfred D. Marino and Louise, nee Falasca. Loving Husband of the late Barbara Marino, nee Petronelli.

Beloved brother of Marion Cerbo, nee Marino and her husband Aldo, and Joseph A. Marino. Beloved brother in law to Coral Lee Dorsey, and brother in law of Tony and Lois Milo and their children Toni Marie, Valerie, Michael and Joseph. Dear lifelong friend and companion to Della Weber.

Loving Godfather and Uncle to Joseph A. Marino II, and loving Uncle to Kenneth Cerbo, Suzanne Govan, nee Cerbo, and Debra Cerbo. Great Uncle to Joseph, Daniel and Robert Marino and Lauren and Marissa Govan and Brittany and Brandan Gaeta. Great-great Uncle to Ashton.

Al was a lifelong electrician and owned his own business, “Marino Electric”; in Rockland County, NY for over 30 years. He was most recently employed at Design Air where he still did estimating and consulting. Al proudly served in the United States Army for 9 years and was honorably discharged as Corporal from service.

He became an auxiliary officer for the Paramus, NJ police department. Al was dedicated to the American Legion and he was active in the POW cause. He went on to serve as the Rockland County Commander of the American Legion, later becoming the State Commander.

He served as Eucharistic Minister at St. Augustine’s Church in New City. He was a member of the Holy Name Society. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral from Higgins Funeral Home, 321 South Main St., New City, NY, on Thursday.

The Funeral Mass will be offered at St. Augustine’s Church in New City at 10 a.m. Burial is at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, New City, NY. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Rockland County American Legion and the Wounded Warriors Project.
