OBITUARY Edward M. Bond June 13, 1969 – October 4, 2018 Edward M. Bond Age 49 Edward passed away suddenly on October 5, 2018 in Shanxi Province, China. Edward was born June 13,1969 in New York City. He was a graduate of Clarkstown High School North, class of ’87, Dominican College class of ’91, and received his master’s degree from Western Connecticut University.

Ed was a 5th grade teacher at Newfield Elementary School in Stamford, Connecticut for several years. He went on to become a counselor at several facilities in the metropolitan area. He took his passion for teaching to Shanxi Province, China where he taught English to children and adults.

Ed was a self-professed movie buff and critic. He enjoyed listening to Billy Joel and was a dedicated and loyal New York Mets fan. He amazed family and friends with his ability to recall dates, times, and places of even the most trivial events.

Ed was introduced to the stage by his 12th grade English teacher. He enjoyed live theatre and performed in several plays – Grease, Peter Pan, Annie, Barnum, Arsenic and Old Lace, A Few Good Men and Barefoot in the Park – just to name a few. Sadly, Ed has heard his last “curtain call” and taken his final bow.

In addition to his son’s Kevin and Liam, Ed is survived by his parents Edward and Roseann Bond of Congers, NY and siblings Jennifer Barucco (Gerard) of New City, NY, Veronica Coloma (Ralph) of Monroe, NY, Matthew Bond (Michelle) of Highland Mills, NY, Daniel Bond (Elizabeth) of Charleston, SC, as well as his nephews Cameron, Ryan, Matthew, Timothy, Jake, and Dylan. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Family will receive friends on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at Higgins Funeral Home, 113 Lake Road East, Congers, NY, between 4 – 8 pm.

A memorial mass will be held on October 19, 2018 at 11am at St. Paul’s Church, 82 Lake Road West, Congers, NY.
