BUTERBAUGH—Alfred L. Jr. “Pook,” 67, Parkhill, died June 3, 2018, at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 16, 1950, in Johnstown, son of Alfred L. Sr. and Joan (Erwin) Buterbaugh. Preceded in death by parents; and brothers, Robert P. and Jeffrey L. Survived by wife, former Linda A. Wentz; children, Brian K. Buterbaugh, East Taylor; Kimberly L. Buterbaugh, Parkhill; and Tennille M. Smay, wife of Michael, Parkhill; grandchildren, Justin McDannell, Johnstown; Breanna Andrews, Conemaugh; Brittany Estok, Ferndale; Alexsis Smay, Parkhill; Anthony V. Plows Jr., Parkhill; and Michael Smay Jr., Parkhill; great-granddaughter, Annalise Smith, Ferndale; brothers and sisters, Leona (John) Koval, Johnstown; Obert G. (Paige) Buterbaugh, Gettysburg; Richard A. Buterbaugh, Rhode Island; and Carol J. (Alfredo) Verissimo, Conn.

; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, special friend, Cheryl “BTS” Yernaux, and her children, Danielle and Ricky and her grandson, Caleb; special friend, Keyla Cramer, Johnstown; and former son-in-law, Anthony V. Plows Sr. Survived also by his furry friends, Shelby Lynn, Midnight Boots, Daisy Mae and Shiloh. 1970 Graduate of Conemaugh Valley High School. US Army Veteran.

Alfred worked for 33 years at Freight Car America as a fabricator. He was a member and Past Commander of Parkhill American Legion Post #970, member of Conemaugh PNA, Conemaugh Fire Club, Franklin VFW and Woodvale Olympic Club. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, hunting and boating.

For many years, alongside his wife, he played Santa for area organizations. Alfred and Linda visited homebound children with disabilities so that they too could visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. He enjoyed bringing that Christmas joy to children and also spending time with his family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh, where Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Dave Streets officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Graveside military rites will be accorded by Menoher Post #155 Ritual team. Online condolences may be posted to www.
