Obituary for Alfred L. “Mr. Leroy” Gober Alfred L. “Mr. Leroy” Gober, 94, of Tyro, Arkansas passed away September 2, 2018. He was a World War II Veteran and a Member of Anderson Chapel Baptist Church. He was born December 27, 1923, in the Township of Portland, Arkansas, to J. L. Gober and Lottie Baker Gober.

He was raised in Arkansas City and graduated High School there in 1942. After being Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1946, he attended LeTourneau Technical Institute in Longview, Texas and graduated there in 1950. He enjoyed a long and distinguished career at the Pine Bluff Arsenal and retired in 1981.

His most favorite thing to do was spend time with his family. He enjoyed being outdoors and especially loved having a garden. Many of his retirement years were spent happily on his John Deere Tractor.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 73 years, Mary B. Gober; two sons, David Thomas Gober and Samuel Richard Gober. Survivors include two sons, Don Roy Gober and wife, Betty of White Hall, William Jack Gober and wife, Patty of Tyro; a brother, Philip Earl Gober and wife, Joyce of Pine Bluff; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, 9 AM to 10 AM at Robinson’s.

Funeral service will be Friday, September 7, 2018, 10 AM, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son with Reverend Bryan Torres officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Online register at www.
