Alfreda Mary Sorensen, supported by her loving family peacefully returned to her Heavenly home on Saturday May 19th, 2018. She was born August 4, 1938, in Lowestoft, Suffolk, England to Trevelyn Girling & Lydia Boyce Girling. She spent her childhood and teenage years in England.

She married Ronald DeAngelo in Ipswich, England in 1962. They moved to the United States that same year and had five children. While living in Pennsylvania, LDS missionaries knocked to God, her family and faith.

After joining the church, she moved her family to Utah in 1972. She and Ronald were later divorced. While attending an LDS Singles dance in Logan, Utah, she met her eternal companion, James Ferrin Sorensenon her door.

She was baptized and began a lifetime of dedicated service. They were married on October 27th, 1978 and were later sealed in the Logan, Utah LDS temple. They later moved to the family farm in East Garland, Utah, where they had two children together.

Alfreda was a proud, active, and faithful member of the LDS Church. Her activities and actions throughout life were based on her religious beliefs. She served the church and her fellow man to the fullest of her abilities in numerous church callings.

Although small in stature, she had the strength and determination of a giant. Her natural love and compassion is what drew everyone to her. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She worked diligently raising her children to love the Lord, the gospel, hard work, and to be good citizens. She was a role model to all who knew her of all those things.

She loved to travel to beautiful places, amongst her favorites were all of Utah’s National Parks, Bear Lake and anywhere in Montana. She loved genealogy, temple work, old ghost towns, turquoise, and western antique shopping. She loved living in the country and working on the family farm.

She had a love and compassion for all living things and enjoyed providing care for the animals on the farm. After a long hard day of taking care of children and animals, she still had a smile on her face. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by family and friends.

She is preceded in returning to her heavenly home by her parents Trevelyn and Lydia Girling, sister, Tonnette Girling, Parents in law Sidney and Ann Sorensen (Whom she loved dearly) and her beloved husband and eternal companion James Ferrin Sorensen. She is survived by her seven loving children: Nick (Colleen) DeAngelo, Mark (Trisha) DeAngelo, Kevin (Marsha) DeAngelo, Krista (Brett) Smith, Greg (Loni) DeAngelo, Toni (Jeff) Winegar, Kimberly Sorensen, 20 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
