Born and raised in Aura, NJ, the daughter of Joseph and Harriet Gotti (nee Scott), she resided in Glassboro, NJ, for most of her life. She graduated from Glassboro High School in 1951, and went on to graduate from Marinello School of Beauty Culture in Phila.

, PA, in 1952. She owned and successfully operated Alice’s Beauty Shop in Glassboro for over fifty years. A former Miss Glassboro, Alice was a natural beauty, but she was best known for her kind and generous nature.

She was a devoted wife and mother, and her family was her greatest joy. Alice was multi-talented, and she expressed her creativity through her many hobbies. She was a fabulous cook, and she also enjoyed crocheting intricate items for her friends and family.

She had a beautiful smile and an easy laugh. Her great sense of fun made her the perfect audience for the many attempts at humor in the Tanger household. She will be terribly missed and will forever remain in the hearts of her loving family.

Alice is predeceased by her husband, George, to whom she was married for 57 years. She is survived by her son, Martin J. Tanger; her daughter Kathleen A. Crescenzo (William); her sister, Harriet Schorn (John); her niece, Sheri Torres (William); her nephew, Dutch Schorn; great-nieces, Saxon Schorn and Marisa Torres, and her great-nephews, William Torres and Scout Schorn. Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Thursday, March 28th from 7:00 – 9:00 PM and Friday, March 29th from 10:00 – 11:00 AM, where a service will follow at 11:00 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown.

Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Hurffville. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Alice’s name to Samaritan Healthcare & Hospice, 5 Eves Dr., Suite 300, Marlton, NJ 08053.
