Papa, 99, of Pitman, NJ, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 12, 2019. Born and raised in Williamstown, in 1964 he moved to Hampton, NH and spent many years there before moving to Pitman. Mr. Papa was a graduate of Glassboro High School, where he served as class president and he later attended Temple University.

He was Plant Manager for Owens Illinois Inc. in Newburyport, MA before retiring. He was a founding member of the Newburyport Industrial Park, a former Bank Director of Naumkeag Trust Company, a member of the Knights of Columbus in Newburyport, a former President of the Rotary in Newburyport, and a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Anna Jaques Hospital, a nonprofit hospital serving Newburyport and surrounding communities. He enjoyed wood working, golfing, spending time at his home in Florida and most importantly spending time with his family.

Beloved husband of the late Eva T. Papa (nee Ponzetto). Devoted father of Susan Smith (Greenleaf “Chris”). Loving grandfather of Stephanie Papp (Michael) and Katharine Smith.

Loving great grandfather of Adira Papp and Danica Papp. Dear uncle to nieces and nephews. Dear brother of the late William Papa, the late Rose Papa, the late Anthony Papa, the late Frank Papa, and the late Ramona Tamaska.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, March 23rd from 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Farnelli Funeral Home, 504 N. Main Street, Williamstown, NJ where a service will be held at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Vineland, NJ. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Heartland Hospice, 190 N. Evergreen Ave.
