Alice Fay Troyer Kalida – Alice Fay Troyer, 73, of Kalida died 9:35 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 at her residence with her family at her side. She was born December 26, 1944 in Middlesboro, KY to Frank J. and Marie (Margraves) Raines who preceded her in death. On September 2, 1993 she married Philip Troyer, who survives in Kalida.

She is also survived by her two daughters, Sandra Dee Shawver of Defiance and Carla Jonatte (Chris) Buchanan of Ottawa; two step children, Jill Nalley and Jeff Troyer both of Indianapolis, IN. ; seven grandchildren, Jayda (Jeremy) Hudson of Lima, Jayme Hahn of Kalida, Jake Hahn of Oakwood, Allison Buchanan of Ottawa, Alexis Shawver of Tampa, FL. , and Danny Shawver and Noah Shawver both of Defiance; two step grandchildren, Matthew (Kayla) Nalley and Adam Nalley both of Lima; and one great-grandchild, Hazel Hudson; two brothers, James M. (Betty) Raines of Lima and Carl B. Raines of Lima; and a sister, Carolyn Stolzenburg of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by her late husband Dale Finnegan; three brothers, William H. “Bill”, Frankie D. “Blackie” and Jerry W. Raines; and two sisters, Diana Dickson and Jeanette Jones. Fay had worked as a cashier at Walmart in Ottawa. For many years she operated her own craft business, The Red Barn Crafters.

She was an accomplished tole painter. She operated a booth at the Shipshewana Flea Market as well as participating in craft shows in four states. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa.

Her greatest joy was her family. She also enjoyed traveling and seeing our great country. It was Fay’s request to be cremated.

A celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, Ottawa. Arrangements are under the direction of LOVE FUNERAL HOME, Ottawa. Memorial contributions may be made to Lifeline of Ohio 770 Kinnear Road Columbus, OH 43212.
