Alice Wagstrom, age 87, of Mission, Texas, formerly of Fergus Falls, went home to be with the Lord on May 17, 2018. She passed away at home with her daughter Donna by her side after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Alice was born March 21, 1931 in Fulton, South Dakota, the daughter of Melvin and Erma (Cunningham) Rogers.

She was baptized at Rock Creek Lutheran Church in rural South Dakota and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Mitchell, SD. Alice attended a rural school and graduated from Mitchell High School in 1948. She then attended Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Mitchell and graduated as a registered nurse in 1951.

In 1951, she married Donald Ohe and they had two daughters, Diane and Donna. She worked as a registered nurse at the Fergus Falls State Hospital for over 38 years, retiring in 1991. Donald died in 1976.

She married George Wagstrom on July 26, 1973. Alice was a member of Maplewood Lutheran Church while living in Minnesota and currently was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, TX. She enjoyed sewing, hardanger, counted cross stitch, baking, making floral arrangements and working with George on remodeling projects.

She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, but most of all she loved Jesus, her Savior and Lord. She enjoyed her life and after retirement she and George wintered in Texas, relocating there in May 2012. Alice was preceded in death by her husband George; her parents; sisters, Valda Munson and Irene Sonne.

She is survived by daughters, Diane (Paul) Ness of Blaine, and their son Michael (Rochelle) Ness; Donna (Reynold) Jager of Mission, TX, their daughter, Sonja (Brian) Lindgren and son, Erik (Joan) Wasche; stepson, Brian (Liz) Wagstrom and their son Andrew (Abby) Wagstrom and daughter Emily Wagstrom; eight great-grandchildren, Devon and Ethan Wasche; Sydney, Alexandra and Keira Lindgren; Collin, Evan and Emmalin Ness; and her beloved Boston Terrier, Abby. A Celebration of Alice’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, May 26, 2018, at Glende-Nilson Funeral Home in Fergus Falls, with visitation one hour prior to services. Clergy: Pastor Ryan Habbena Interment: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fergus Falls In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church in Mission, TX.
