Obituary for Aline Kite FORT WORTH – Wanda Aline Kite, 89, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday, May 27, 2018. Service: A private service and burial was held for the family on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation or a charity of your choice.

Aline Kite was a loving and proud wife, mother and grandmother. Born in Clarita, Oklahoma on Oct. 1, 1928, Aline was the daughter of Eugene and Gladys Woods.

She attended East Central University until marrying Samuel H. Kite in 1948. Aline and Sam moved to Fort Worth in 1951, where they raised their four children. Together they started their family businesses, Kite’s Custom Cleaners in 1958 and Kite’s Draperies and Interiors in 1967.

Aline loved raising and showing Palomino Western Pleasure horses with her family at the Fort Worth Stock Show and the Texas State Fair. She was fortunate to travel around the world with a wonderful group of friends and loved finding special souvenirs for her grandchildren during their travels. Aline was a member of Ridglea Country Club, the Fort Worth Petroleum Club, the Fort Worth Woman’s Club, and Westside Church of Christ.

Aline was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Samuel H. Kite; her parents; her brother, Bob Woods and his wife, Ann; and her brother-in-law, Oliver Parker. Survivors: Children, Sam E. and wife, Carol, Nancy Kite Courtney, Gary and wife, Lillian and Philip and wife, Emily; grandchildren, Nathan Kite, Jenny Gillespie and husband, Matt, Julie Joost and husband, Dustin, Christina Rodgers and husband, Cass, Scott Courtney, Jr. and wife, Jenna, Maxcey Blaylock and husband, Luke and Sam P. Kite; two great-granddaughters; sisters, Zelmadean Parker and Nell Dennis and husband, Leon; and several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give special thanks to Sherri Haught, Gloria Baylor, Dyan Haney, Chelsea Ausborne, and Gwendolyn Chriss for their loving care of Aline these last years.
