Obituary for James A. Gibson FORT WORTH-James “Sonnie” Gibson, 87, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite church youth programs in Sonnie’s name. An open visitation for Mr. Gibson will be Monday, May 28, starting at 12:00 PM.

Sonnie was born January 18, 1931, in Fort Worth, to the late Jim and Exa Gibson. He was the youngest of four children. Sonnie grew up in Fort Worth, as well as in Jennings and Paris, Texas.

He married Martha Louise Callaway in 1951. They have two children and recently celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Sonnie ran a small business in Fort Worth for over 40 years and operated a cattle ranch west of Fort Worth for 45 years.

He was blessed with a large and loving family that was located in the North Texas area. Sonnie was preceded in death by his twin brothers, Lloyd Gibson and Floyd Gibson; and his sister, Doris Gibson. Survivors: Loving wife, Martha Gibson; daughter, Kathleen Holland and son-in-law, Rick Holland; son, James Gibson and daughter-in-law, Bunny Gibson; grandchildren, Lauren Holland, Travis Holland, Kyle Holland, and Ben Gibson; great-grandchildren, Austin, Charlie, soon to arrive Jaycee and her brothers, Jordan and Jayden; many much loved nieces and nephews; and his longtime friend and brother-in-law, Elmo Roberts.
