Obituary for Allen Charles Alexander III Allen Charles Alexander III, age 73, of Grafton, passed away on Friday, June 22 at the Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. He was born on January 31, 1945 in Del Rio, Texas and has been a resident of Lorain County since 1976. He was a member of St. Colette Church in Brunswick.

Allen was called to Priesthood and Ministry and earned his Master’s In Divinity from St. Mary Seminary, Graduate School of Theology and went on to serve as a Catholic Priest for the Diocese of Cleveland at St. Gregory in South Euclid, St. Anthony in Akron, Sacred Heart in Oberlin, Our Lady Help of Christians in Litchfield and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Columbia Station. He continued his ministry with Waite and Sons Funeral Homes, and was a funeral director and embalmer there for 17 years. He went on to Fairview and Cleveland Clinic Hospitals, where he was a Hospital Chaplain.

In his free time, Allen enjoyed woodworking, and made many pieces his family still enjoy today. He published 8 books, including his family history, historical fiction and a history of Our Lady Help of Christians. He also dedicated a lot of time to genealogical research for his family and book research.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Mary Ann (nee Krokos); stepchildren Dale (Diane) Shoenfelt and Donna (Michael) Dieterich; grandchildren Kelsey, Kateland, Jake and Ryan Shoenfelt and Derek, Dean and Mia Dieterich; sister Cynthia A. (James) Hicks of Chesterfield, MI; brother John C. (Laura) Alexander of Lake Mary, FL; he was known as “Uncle Chuck” to Heather (Jason) Chorazy (children: Maddie and Joey), Heath (Nicole) Stauffer (children: Norah and Alex), Amanda (Keith) Frank (children Maeve and Stella), Brian (Jessica) Alexander (son: Danny), Jennifer (Bob) Everland (children: Lillie and Lex). Allen was preceded in death by his parents Allen C. II and Josephine (nee Gibson) Alexander. Family will receive friends in the Bogner Family Funeral Home, 36625 Center Ridge Rd.

, N. Ridgeville, on Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Colette Church, 330 West 130th St, Brunswick, OH 44212 (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. Paul Wysocki will officiate.

Interment will be in Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township. The family requests donations be made in Allen’s name to the Religious Education Program at Our Lady Help of Christians Parish, 9608 Norwalk Rd. , Litchfield, 44253 or Religious Education Program at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, P.O. Box 968, 25801 Royalton Rd.
