Martin “Marty” J Black, 85, of North Ridgeville, passed away unexpectedly on Monday May 28, 2018 at O’Neill Healthcare in North Ridgeville. Marty was born July 5, 1932 in New York, New York. At the age of 17 Marty joined the Coast Guard and served his country until 1952.

After serving in the military, he worked as an over-the-road truck driver for 40 years. Marty married his wife Patricia in 1983, and over the 35 years they were married she would often ride with him and together they enjoyed many beautiful sights around the country. While he was not spending time with his enormous family, Marty also enjoyed fishing, books, radio talk shows, computers, and computer games, especially Q-Bert.

Marty was also very physically active, frequently bicycling across state and walking his beloved dogs. The family welcomes friends to join them on Tuesday June 5, 2018 from 4pm until the time of a Memorial Service at 6pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. , (at Stoney Ridge Rd.

) North Ridgeville. Father Frank Kosem will officiate the service.
