Obituary for Alvin Henry Fredericksen Alvin Henry Fredericksen, 81 of Mt. Airy, MD Passed Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at home. He was the beloved husband of Shirley Jean (Brown) Fredericksen.
Mr. Fredericksen was born June 22, 1937 in Ripon, CA the son of the late Carl Peter and late Lora Ellen (Burkett) Fredericksen. He was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service starting his career in Wheaton and continuing to work in the Colesville post office. He was also a part time butcher for Safeway in Damascus, a proud Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, a trustee and member of Lisbon United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Howard County Fair.
He enjoyed bowling and mentoring the youth. Surviving in addition to his wife are Son Gary Allen Fredericksen of Mt. Airy, Daughter and son-in-law Kelly Jean and George Snouffer of Winfield, KS, Brother Paul Fredericksen, Sister Ellen O’Shea, Grandchildren Christian and Kevin Snouffer, Great-grandson Keagan Whiteman.
Preceded in death by Brothers Carl and John Fredericksen. The family will receive friends Monday, December 10, 2018 3 PM to 6 PM at BURRIER-QUEEN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, P.A., 1212 W. Old Liberty Rd. Winfield, MD 21784(beside S. Carroll High).
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2018 11 AM at Lisbon United Methodist Church, 15875 Frederick Rd. Lisbon, MD 21765. Inurnment at a later date.
