OBITUARY Amie Reese Dillard Hughes September 21, 1930 – September 21, 2018 Amie Reese Dillard Hughes passed away peacefully on her 88th birthday, Friday, September 21, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Marvin I. Hughes Sr. Loving mother of Leo J. Brunet (Rhonda), Pam Juno, and the late Judy Matherne. Grandmother of Kellie Brunet, Kristie Brunet, Tiffany Matherne, Lacy Matherne, Heather Hurt (Jeff), and Rachel New.

Great-grandmother of 9. Sister of Willie Reese Clark. Amie was a native of Pontotoc, Mississippi and was a resident of the Westbank for the majority of her life.

She worked as an administrator at Belle Chasse State School for many years, where she developed many bonds to help and care for the special children there. Amie was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by many. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Monday afternoon, September 24, 2018 at 1:00.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 in the morning. Interment will follow in Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale. An online guestbook is available at www.
