Amy Elizabeth Taylor, 54, left us to be with God on February 7, 2019. Heaven gained a special angel that day, or as Amy would say, “I am a classical, old-fashioned, Victorian woman”. Born on July 3, 1964 in Columbus, Ohio to Hull and Phyllis Taylor, Amy was the youngest of four girls; Peggy, Ruthi and MariAnne.

Amy was born with various health problems and at the age of three it was discovered that she was deaf. Being deaf NEVER stopped Amy from doing anything that she wanted to do. Amy attended the Idaho State School for the Deaf and the Blind in Gooding, Idaho and graduated in 1984.

Amy was involved with Special Olympics and received many gold medals for bowling. She loved listening to music, going to movies and taking selfies. Some of her other favorites were, of course, the color PURPLE, coffee, Diet Coke, Dove candy bars, Twinkies, wine and special occasions.

If Amy were to go out, you would see her wearing pearls, rings on every finger and sparkly fancy clothes. Too much jewelry at one time did not exist to Amy. Amy never met a stranger, she was magical.

To know Amy for a moment was to love her for a lifetime. Amy’s greatest gift was her incredible ability to teach us to be kinder, to be patient, to be forgiving, to be tolerant and to LOVE. Amy is survived by Peggy (Ralph) Hutchison, Ruthi Caba (John), MariAnne (Jim) Nance, Mike (Carolyn) McDonnell, Debbie (Dan) Davis, Gary McDonnell and many nieces and nephews.

Proceeded in death by her Father, Hull Taylor, mother Phyllis Taylor McDonnell, stepfather Ron McDonnell and stepbrother Steve McDonnell. The family would like to thank Dr. Cherese Tartar and the staff of Doctor’s Hospice, especially her favorite, Chiara Ahl, RN. To honor Amy, we would like to request that everyone wear purple to celebrate the life of our angel.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Doctor’s Hospice or the American Heart Association. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A reception will follow in the Nampa Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell. An online guest book is available at www.
