Obituary Service Details Turners Falls—–Andrew S. Karpinski, 94, of Norman Circle died Wednesday (1-10-18) at home. He was born April 27, 1923 in Sunderland the son of Alexander and Amelia (Mileski) Karpinski. Andy was a graduate of Deerfield High School in 1941 where he was class President.

He joined the US Navy and was aboard the USS Healy. He attained the rank of Second class water tender. He was honorably discharge in 1945.

He attended many of his naval reunions. Being a machinist Andy worked for Millers Falls Tool Co. for over 25 years. After retirement he worked for many other shops including Tri-State Precision, Hassay Savage and Judd Wire.

Andy enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was a member of the Mechanic Lodge of Masons , Shriners,the Bernardston VFW and St. James and Andrew Episcopal Church.

Andy leaves his daughter Andrea and her husband Robert of Montague, his granddaughter Robyn Bashaw and her husband Patrick of Simpsonville, SC and their children; BeAnna and Blake, his grandson Andrew Slongwhite and his wife Diane of North Pole , Alaska and their children; Ethan, Evan and Rylee, a son in-law Frank Cusumano of NY and several niece and nephews including Ed Karpinski of Phippsburg, ME. He was predeceased by his wife of 60 years the former Sylvia Beauchesne in 2004 and a daughter Pamela in 2015. Calling hours will be held on Sat.

May19th from 9am-11am at Kostanski Funeral Home 1 Kostanski Square in Turners Falls. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 19tth at 11am at the funeral home and burial will follow in Green River Cemetery in Greenfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104-2396 or to Hospice of Franklin County 329 Conway St., Greenfield, MA.
