Lunenburg- Richard G. Bennett, 82, died Saturday 7/14/18 at the Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg. He was born in Greenfield on October 22, 1935, the son of Gerald and Marion (Dustin) Bennett. Richard attended local schools in Greenfield and was a graduate of Greenfield High School Class of 1953.

He served in the United States Navy. After completing his naval service, Richard resided in North Stonington, CT and worked at the New London, CT Submarine Base in Personnel. After his retirement from there, Richard worked for the Gaming Commission at Foxwoods Casino for fifteen years.

He moved to Luneburg, Ma with his brother and sister in law. He attended the Congregational Church in UCC in Leominster. Among his survivors, Richard leaves his brother, Bryan Bennett and his wife Jean of Lunenburg, MA; a niece, Janel Bennett Hebert, her husband Mike and their daughter Adeline of Leominster; a niece, Dustina Bennett and her son Nathaniel of Brighton, MA; and his extended family, John and Robin Sodano and their daughter Krystianna.

A memorial graveside service will be held Thursday 7/26 at 12noon at the Green River Cemetery, Wisdom Way, Greenfield, Ma. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregational Church of Christ, 583 Main Street, Leominster, MA 01453. Arrangements are under the direction of the Kostanski Funeral Home.
