Andrew Lee Barnes “Andy”, our beloved husband, father, son, brother, friend and fellow officer, passed away December 12, 2018, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born June 11, 1973 in Logan, Utah the son of Leroy Dee and Terri Lee Barnes. Andy loved to be busy, whether it was fishing, hunting, church callings, working on projects, or helping others.

Andy had an impact on everyone who knew him through his selfless desire to serve. This gift for helping others was exemplified through his work as a member of the Cache County Search & Rescue, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office, and most recently, the USU Police Department. More than anything else, Andy loved and adored his 3 children and the love of his life, his wife, Cathrine (Katie) Koch.

Andy’s world revolved around them and he cherished every minute spent together as a family. Andy’s quick-wit, love for life and family, and his selfless service will be missed by many. Andy truly was loved by all who knew him.

Andy is survived by his wife, Cathrine; children, Morgan, Tanner, Emerie; parents, Leroy Dee & Terri Lee Barnes, Alfred & Karen Koch; and brother, James Dee Barnes. He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Barnes Haskell; and nephew, Britton Alfred Koch. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 11 am in the Hyde Park 11th Ward Chapel, 100 W. 450 N., Hyde Park, Utah.

Viewings will be held on Tuesday, December 18, from 6-8 pm at the church and Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. also at the church. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family at webbmortuary.com.
