Obituary for Angela Denise Chaney Angela Denise (Davis) Chaney, affectionately known as “Angie or Nanny,” was born on June 26, 1975 to Tobie Jean Davis and James Ross in Cincinnati, Ohio. She departed this life unexpectedly on April 25, 2018 into the arms of The Lord… Angela attended Cincinnati Public Schools and graduated from Taft High School. She furthered her education by enrolling in beauty college.

Angie was passionate about becoming a licensed beautician…and she was also passionate about her children. She was the proud, dedicated mother of three wonderful children: Ariana “Moo-Moo,” Camiyah and Cameron. Angie, who loved her children more than anything else, raised them with a strict, yet loving hand.

She dedicated herself to working hard to provide for their wants and needs. The light of Angela’s eyes were her two beautiful granddaughters, Delilah and Peyton, with whom she loved sharing videos and pictures of their fun adventures on Facebook. The highlight of her day was “Facetiming” the girls each morning to tell them how pretty they were before they headed to school.

She was also in great anticipation and so excited about meeting her first grandson, Abdul A’King. Angie’s other passion in life was to slay hair and make every customer who sat in her chair feel beautiful. Her customers loved how she made them feel and look.

She did it all at the best price in town. Angie was such a perfectionist, she wouldn’t let her customers leave until she thought their hair was perfect. Her amazing craft and service spanned over 20 years, including her employment at Flamingos, Rob’s Barber Shop and operating her own shop in her home.

She was always known for speaking her mind and, “letting someone have it,” during and out of hair sessions. Everyone could find out exactly how she felt, or about anything that was on her mind, by reading her daily Facebook page. She loved dancing and singing to R&B songs with her children and grandchildren, shopping, traveling, having breakfast at Frisch’s and chilling with a nice cold Pepsi.

Angela also loved to smell good and look good. You always knew when she was around because her sweet perfume would just linger throughout the room. She will be truly missed by her children, her family, friends and clients.

Angela was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harvey Lee Benford Sr., her father, James Ross, and brothers, Georta Valentine Mack and Joey Darnell Benford. Her loving spirit will forever be celebrated by her mother, Tobie Jean Lovell; her children, Ariana, Camiyah, and Cameron; her grandchildren, Delilah, Peyton and future grandson, Abdul A’King; her sisters, Marcia, Donna (Richard), Dorothy, Tasha, and Tyrane; her brothers, Harvey ll (Regina), Corey (Marae), Michael (Holly) and James. she will also be dearly missed by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
