Anna Marie “Rita” Guffey age 78, new Castle resident, passed away Saturday, July 14, 2018. She was born September 12, 1939 in Powersburg, Kentucky a daughter of the late Hulbert and Myrtie Hancock Ballenger. She had worked many years in the Dietary Department of local nursing homes.

She loved family activities and sharing time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alonzo Guffey, nine children: Myrtie Foster, Brenda Meade, Faye Catron, Doyle Guffey, Patricia Choate, Peggy Griffith, Steve Guffey and Louise Van; siblings: Charlotte Chick, Denton Ballenger and Velma Jessup. Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 Pm Wednesday July 18, 2018 at Macer Hall Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Wednesday July 18, 2018 at Macer-Hall Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Palmer, officiating.
