Obituary for Anne Nagy Anne Nagy (nee Grego), passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset in Somerville, just a few weeks short of her 92nd birthday. Born on November 23, 1926 in Kelayres, PA to James Vincent Grego and Veronica Mattey, Anne was the fourth of six children – Elizabeth, Evelyn, Joe, Vincent, and James, all of whom have since passed. Anne married Edward John Nagy in Pennsylvania on May 14, 1949.

Together, they moved to South Plainfield, where their son, James Edward was born and raised. After losing her husband to ALS 25 years ago, Anne continued to remember him with tender and dedicated affection. As a young woman, Anne worked at Westinghouse as a soldered and then at the Sears Jewelry Distribution Center in Edison, from which she eventually retired.

She was a devout member of Sacred Heart RC Church in South Plainfield, where she faithfully served on the Altar Rosary Society for many years. Anne also belonged to South Plainfield Senior Center and was a charter member of the WWII Memorial in Washington DC. Anne was both a beloved and devoted matriarch of her family – especially doting and attentive to both her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, to whom she would never fail to send cards or care packages to their homes spread across the country.

Phoning to thank her for these often proved a happy challenge, as she was frequently engaged with the visits, events and phone calls of her numerous friends. For her thoughtful and gracious spirit, Anne will be remembered and missed dearly by her son James E. and his wife Andrea, her grandchildren James A. (Kirstin), Kristofer (Joy) and Andrew (Chantal), her great-grandchildren Jakob, Alek, Layla and Jaxon, as well as her extended family and friends. Those who would like to bid farewell can attend her Visitation at South Plainfield James W. Conroy Funeral Home, 2456 Plainfield Avenue South Plainfield, NJ 07080 on Thursday, November 15, 2018 in the from 5 to 8 pm.
