Annettha Elizabeth Glaize Manuel December 17, 1919 – March 08, 2019 Share this obituary Send Sympathy Gifts Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Annettha Elizabeth Glaize Manuel, 99, of Richmond, passed away Friday March 8, 2019. She was born December 17, 1919 in Strasburg VA. Her parents, Walter Tanquary Glaize and Susan Henshaw Glaize preceded her in death.

She has joined her husband of 65 years, Herbert Bennett Manuel in their heavenly home. He passed March 8, 2007. They are survived by their children, Katherine “Kitty” Manuel Redford (Grayson), Thomas “Tom” Glaize Manuel (Emily), Annettha “Anne” Manuel Benites (Santiago), Marjorie “Marge” Manuel Rusher(William); seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.

She was a long time member of Lakeside Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was an active member of a Home Demonstration Club and several Bridge Groups. Her homemade chocolate fudge and bread brought smiles to family and many friends.

The real joys of her life were supporting her husband in his work at Southern States Co-op and her children and grandchildren in their many endeavors. She enjoyed the experiences of travel that she and Herb shared after he retired. The family will receive friends 1 PM to 3 PM Tuesday at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 West Broad Street.

A Celebration of her life will be held at Cedarfield Retirement Community. Interment will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Massey Cancer Center, Box 980214, Richmond, VA 23284 or Samaritan Fund, C/O Cedarfield Retirement, 2300 Cedarfield PKWY, Richmond, VA 23233.
