Annie L. Polk July 22, 1929 to October 9, 2018 Annie’s first love was her husband, Cecil. The two were inseparable for 67 years and she has missed him deeply for the last four years. I think she talked to his picture every day and perhaps now she is holding his hand and her heart is not aching.

Annie’s second love was her children. From the time that the first was born and until the fourth one left home she held them under her wings and cherished them and educated them to the best of her ability. She made sure that a Christian atmosphere at home helped them make good choices in life and loved them no matter what choices they made.

With an empty nest Annie decided to become a nurse and she succeeded. She worked in this profession for a short period of time. Annie’s third love was her grandkids.

Family gatherings with her kids and grandkids always made her happy beyond words. Being able to take her grandkids and do things with them created joy in her heart. When Cecil retired and with Annie in tow, they began to travel the USA.

Alaska is the only state they did not set foot in. As Cecil’s health declined Annie did quilting and made dolls clothes as she watched over him and took care of his needs until the end. She was preceded in death by her husband Cecil Robert Polk and son Joe Marvin Polk.
