Anthony D. “Tony” Recchia, Sr., 59, of Sumner, formerly of Goshen, CT, died unexpectedly early Tuesday morning, Apr. 17, 2018 at his home in Sumner. He was born on Nov.

26, 1958, in Waterbury, CT, a son of, Anthony J. and Ann (DeMola) Recchia. He attended local schools, graduating from, Kennedy High School. Tony was a life member of the NRA and also a certified NRA shooting instructor. He was a chief instructor for the CARE Program, and was also an instructor with the High Rock Shooting Association. An avid outdoorsman, Tony enjoyed ice-fishing, ATV’s, snowmobiling, and of course, shooting.

Tony is survived by his wife, Ruth of Sumner, formerly of Goshen, CT; his son, Anthony, Jr. and his wife, Lena of Buckfield; brothers and sister-in-law, Mike Alsdorf of Columbia, PA, David Alsdorf and his wife, Dana of Naugatuck, CT and Sue Dobler and her husband, Louis of Naugatuck, CT. He was predeceased by his parents. A funeral service will be held, 2PM, Sunday, Apr.

22, 2018 at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford. There will be a time of visitation one hour prior to the service from 1-2PM. Interment will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park, 980 Turner St., Auburn.
