Anthony “Tony” Joseph Allo, 86, left us to be with his Lord and Savior on May 15th, 2019, in Orlando surrounded by his loving family. Tony Allo was born in Raritan, New Jersey, August 7th, 1932, to Italian parents Irene and Charles Allo. After graduating from Bound Brook High School, Mr. Allo attended Morehead State in Kentucky where he received his Masters degree in Music Education.

There he also met his first wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Hogsten, who also received her Masters in Music. They were married shortly after graduating and had two sons Steve and Keith. Tony and Bobbie worked together teaching at various high schools in Kentucky and Florida, as well as Indian River Community College (now IRSC), where they served as Co-chairmen of the Music & Fine Arts department.

After Bobbie’s death, in 1983, Tony met and remarried Teresa “Terry” James. Tony raised her son Eric as his own, and in 1984 welcomed their daughter Tricia. Tony continued to teach at IRCC until his retirement in 1997.

During the 1990s and 2000s, Tony and Terry traveled the country in an RV, visiting family and friends and discovering new places and adventures. Tony taught music for more than 50 years, receiving numerous awards and accolades for his work, and his bands were consistently considered and recognized as some of the best in the country. His impact on his students is renowned, and his former students far and wide regularly reached out to Tony some 30-40 years after they graduated.

Tony’s students are truly his greatest legacy. Tony Allo is survived by his wife of 35 years, Terry Allo, of Zellwood Florida; his sister Marie Capolunghi and her husband Vic of Middle, NJ: his son Steve Allo and his wife Rita of Dallas, TX; his son Keith Allo of Windermere, FL; his son Eric Bock and his wife Bethany of Raleigh, NC; his daughter, Tricia Clement and her husband Robert of Port St Lucie, FL; and grandkids Chase, Grayson, Joshua, Isabella, Adelyn, Kara, and Emmett.
