Bosico, former Mayor and Trustee and lifelong resident of Haverstraw NY has passed away, Saturday February 9th 2019 at the age of 94. He was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy in the Submarine silent service on the USS Grouper 214, and the Submarine tender The Proteus. Tony and his wife Theresa were the owners of Vogue Beauty Salon where they made many good friends for many years.

He also worked for NY State at Letchworth Village. Born on 20 Pratt St to Nicolo and Santa Bosico. A member of Relief Hose #3.

He was elected as Trustee and Mayor of Haverstraw in the 1970s and 80s. He was preceded in death by his son Steven, brother Danny (Esther) of Thiells NY, and sister Josephine (Roger) Meunier of Nanuet, NY. He is survived by his wife Theresa (Natale), daughters Mary Wyatt of Prestwood England, and Rita of Ada Oklahoma; 2 grandchildren Alexander Wyatt and Sarah Wyatt, brother Nick Bosico (Ann) of Stony Point NY and sister Cecelia (John) Abrams of Virginia, and a large extended family, and many friends.

He wanted to spread joy to people and make them feel loved. Still carrying on the long lost art of handwritten greetings and Christmas cards. Taking pictures of every special event.

He was a devout, lifelong parishioner of St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church and his greatest joy for over 30 years has been being a part of their annual Passion Play. He was a generous man who always had a ready story, memory, trivia, song or joke. He was a history buff, an avid reader, and was very interested in political issues.

He was proud of his country, proud of his hometown where he adored gazing out at the beautiful Hudson River. Tony loved to laugh and live life to the fullest. Visitation will be held Friday, February 15, 2019 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the George M Holt Funeral Home, 50 New Main Street, Haverstraw, NY 10927.

Anthony’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, February 16,2019 at Saint Peter’s and Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 115 Broadway, Haverstraw NY 10927. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in loving memory of Anthony J. Bosico may be made to Saint Peter’s and St Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, St Jude’s Children’s Hospital, or the Charity of your choice.
