Anton J. “Toney” Ley, of Kincaid, IL formerly of Springfield, IL passed away at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2018 at Auburn Nursing and Rehabilitation, Auburn, IL after a short battle with cancer. He was born April 6, 1941 in Springfield, IL the son of Anton “Toney” and Peggy (Nelson) Ley. Toney married Joan Larson in Taylorville, IL in 1964 and she survives.

Toney was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Ley. Toney was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He worked for 34 years at Peabody Mine #10 near Pawnee, IL retiring as Mine Manager.

Toney was a member of the Edwin Corpin American Legion Post #905 in Kincaid, as well as a member of several car clubs. Surviving along with his wife Joan of Kincaid are daughter, Lysa (husband Bruce) Wilde; grandsons, T.J. (wife Courtney) Wilde and Matthew Wilde, along with a great-granddaughter, Kinley Wilde, all of Springfield, IL, and a best friend/brother-in-law, Larry Larson, of Rochester, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded.

As per Toney’s wishes, no services are planned. Masterson Funeral Home in Kincaid is assisting the family with arrangements. Memorials can be made to Waggin’ Tails – Animal Protective League, 1001 Taintor Springfield, IL 62702.
