Apostolia “Lia”‘s Obituary Apostolia “Lia” Karagianopoulos died peacefully on January 21, 2019 in Baltimore, MD at the age of 84. Lia was a devoted and loving mother to her children and a loving and doting grandmother to her five grandchildren. She was a devout Greek Orthodox Christian and lead by example, dedicating countless hours to her church and its ministries.

She was a kind, generous, and caring spirit. She touched the lives of many people with her kind words, warm smile, and gracious nature. She was preceded in death by her husband George Karagianopoulos.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son Gus Karagianopoulos and his wife Sue; her daughter Vasso Koumoudis and her husband Sotiri: her 5 grandchildren, Eleni Karagianopoulos, Lia Karagianopoulos, George Karagianopoulos, Kyriako Koumoudis and Sofia Koumoudis, her sisters Androniki Xoreva, Vasiliki Klosteridou, and Nickoletta Roros, and her brother and his wife Michael and Ekaterini Klosteridis and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews, and very special friends. The family extends appreciation to family and friends for their comforting prayers. Sincere appreciation is also extended to the hospice nurses and care givers at the Senator Bob Hooper House for their supportive and compassionate care and for contributing to the enrichment of our mother’s life as she journeyed forward in her last few days.

Family will receive visitors at the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk on Thursday, January 24, 2019 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM, with Trisagion service at 7:30 PM. The funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 25, 2019 at 11 AM at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church.
