Rita’s Obituary Rita R. Sheppard (née Wojnowski), 81, passed away surrounded by family on Wednesday, February 20, 2019. Born on August 9, 1937, to Joseph and Helen Wojnowski, sister of the late Timothy Wojnowski, Rita was a lifelong Baltimore resident, initially working at Western Electric and then in the healthcare field before serving as a Baltimore County crossing guard during her semi-retired years. Her joys were bingo, her faith, and her family.

She is survived by three children, Colleen Vittek, Jerry “Chip” Sheppard, and Lisa Pisani and husband Steven, and two grandchildren, Brett Sheppard and Jason Reichlyn. Family, friends, and others whose lives Rita touched are invited to the Connelly Funeral Home of Dundalk, 7110 Sollers Point Rd. , Dundalk, MD 21222, on Friday, February 22 from 2-4 p.m and 6-8 p.m. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, February 23 at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Church, 408 S. Chester St., Baltimore, MD 21231.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.
